Requirements and responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive data testing plans to validate financial data accuracy, integrity, and completeness within the Finance Pod.
- Perform detailed testing of data warehouse (DW) systems, ensuring conformance with defined business rules, data models, and transformation logic.
- Utilize strong SQL skills to query data, compare datasets, and identify discrepancies or anomalies across multiple financial data sources and systems.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts including ETL processes, data integration, schema validation, and metadata to ensure robust testing coverage.
- Apply banking domain knowledge to assess the correctness and relevance of financial data in testing scenarios, with a focus on compliance and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, finance teams, and auditors to define test requirements, document defects, and contribute to resolution strategies.
- Automate repetitive test cases where feasible to enhance efficiency and consistency in testing outcomes.
- Prepare clear test documentation, reports, and maintain audit trails for regulatory and compliance purposes.
What you’ll bring
- Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, validation, and manipulation.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data lifecycle, and ETL workflows.
- Prior experience in data testing or quality assurance roles within financial services or banking domain.
- Knowledge of banking data structures, finance processes, and regulatory environment is essential.
- Ability to analyze data flows, identify data quality issues, and work collaboratively in a proactive team environment.
- Good communication skills to effectively document findings and interact with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and methodical approach to ensure high data accuracy and audit-readiness.
