As Deputy Editor in the Institutional Performance division, you will shape and deliver high-quality editorial content for publications like the QS Yearbook and QS Insights Magazine. This role involves setting editorial direction, transforming insights into thought leadership, and maintaining content integrity, supporting QS's reputation as a trusted knowledge source.
Must have:
  • Research and write editorial content for all publications
  • Transform content from conferences into high-quality pieces for publication
  • Assist in researching and creating themes and topics for publications and articles
  • Sub-edit and ensure the accuracy of editorial content
  • Write and develop marketing content for publications
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all advertisement bookings
  • Provide client servicing, replying to email enquiries within one business day
  • Provide feedback on advertiser campaigns and communications
  • Provide renewal notices to the sales team and follow up as needed
  • Assist the sales team in developing post-advertising reports for clients
  • Collaborate with the team to typeset content
  • Manage and approve content on the news aggregation site
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience handling databases
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience/knowledge of Netsuite, Office 365, Box platforms

The Role

QS is seeking a Deputy Editor, in its Institutional Performance division, which offers publications, conferences, rankings and ratings, business intelligence, and consulting to the global higher education sector.

The Deputy Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality editorial content that aligns with QS's mission of empowering motivated individuals globally to realize their potential. By ensuring that our publications including the QS Yearbook and QS Insights Magazine are engaging, accurate, and insightful, the Deputy Editor contributes to our goal of making impactful information accessible to a worldwide audience.

The Deputy Editor will also help set the editorial direction of the publications, delving into the latest international higher education news and transforming QS’ insights into thought leadership pieces. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and excellence of our content, which in turn supports QS's reputation as a trusted source of knowledge and inspiration.

Role responsibilities:

  • Research and write editorial content for all publications throughout the year.
  • Transform content from conferences (such as panels and speeches) into high-quality pieces for publication.
  • Assist in researching and creating themes and topics for publications and articles.
  • Sub-edit and ensure the accuracy of editorial content.
  • Write and develop marketing content for publications.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all advertisement bookings.
  • Provide client servicing, replying to email enquiries within one business day.
  • Provide feedback on advertiser campaigns and communications, including notifying advertisers of publication release and expressing appreciation for their support.
  • Provide renewal notices to the sales team and follow up as needed.
  • Assist the sales team in developing post-advertising reports for clients.
  • Collaborate with the team to typeset content.
  • Manage and approve content on the news aggregation site.

Key skills and experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience handling databases.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience/knowledge of any of the following platforms:
  • Netsuite, Office 365, Box.
