We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer Lead to shape the end-to-end user experience for our developer customers. This role involves crafting intuitive, polished interactions and translating ideas into prototypes and production-ready designs, then implementing them in code. You will define new design patterns for cutting-edge AI solutions, making advanced capabilities accessible. Responsibilities include leading the design process, coding designs in React/TypeScript, collaborating with Product and Engineering, and continuously iterating based on feedback.

Must Have:

Lead design process from concept to final product, including user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Implement designs in code (React, TypeScript) with polish and precision.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate AI capabilities into intuitive experiences.
Continuously test, learn, and iterate using feedback and data.
Champion design quality and user empathy.
5+ years experience in product design, UX design, and front-end engineering.
Portfolio showcasing strong design principles and user-centered design.
Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.
Fluent in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
Experience with frontend tools/libraries (MUI, Emotion, Next.js, Tailwind).
Clear communicator, enjoys cross-functional collaboration.
Thrives tackling multiple projects in a dynamic setting.
Based in SF Bay Area or willing to relocate for on-site work.

What You'll Do

Lead the design process from concept to final product. This includes creating user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
Implement your designs in code (React, TypeScript, etc.), ensuring that what you ship matches the vision with polish and precision.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, developer-friendly experiences.
Continuously test, learn, and iterate, using feedback and data to refine and improve the user experience.
Champion design quality and user empathy, shaping both the product and the way we build it.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in product design, user experience (UX) design, and front-end engineering.
A portfolio showcasing strong design principles and a deep understanding of user-centered design.
Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.
Fluent in modern front-end tech, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
Experience with popular frontend tools and libraries (MUI, Emotion, Next.js, and Tailwind, etc).
Clear communicator who enjoys working across design, product, and engineering.
Thrive when tackling different projects at once in a dynamic setting.
