Our story

Coley Porter Bell is global brand agency based in London and New York using strategy, creativity, and design to build immersive brands. For almost 45 years, we have partnered with some of the world’s biggest companies, including Formula 1, LEGO, Ferrero Group, The Coco Cola Company, Post Office, Muller, Premier Foods, Tesco, and Boots.

We enjoy the best of both worlds: we’re the perfect balance of big and small. We attract our own clients as a nimble group of about 40 people, whilst also being a part of WPP, the largest branding and advertising network in the world. We are a friendly, down-to-earth team – backed by the creativity, resources, and influence of a global network.

What we’re looking for

A Mid Weight Designer to work within our creative team to deliver extraordinary design by imagining unique answers to creative problems, developing striking and compelling designs, thinking on their feet to help the creative cause and inspiring their colleagues and companions. This role is on the consumer side of our business working primarily with our FMCG/Packaging clients so we will need to see experience of the creation of brands and products from strategy to concept through to the delivery and a demonstration of the ongoing management of the more detailed principles for managing product messages, pack hierarchies and range navigation.

How we’ve created brand identities in the past is not enough to meet the demands of today. Immersive Branding goes beyond 2D visual design and includes visual, sound, touch, sensory and behaviour – and we’re looking for a creative who can connect these sensory expressions together and create holistic, original brand experiences.

What you’ll do

  • As part of our creative team, support Design Directors and fellow Designers to come up with innovative creative solutions that support client goals.
  • Conduct conceptual exploration, coming up with alternative design solutions to ensure no stone is left unturned.
  • Evaluate design options, develop and push to find ‘big ideas’ based on design strategy and creative brief.
  • Evaluate and develop competitive and breakthrough design strategies and plans.
  • Partner and interact with internal teams and clients to showcase your passion for creative excellence, branding, packaging, motion and visual communication.

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a brand/design agency.
  • Outstanding Adobe Creative Suite skills, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • A thirst and knowledge for how digital and new tech can be purposefully embedded into brand stories.
  • An impressive portfolio, demonstrating recent work with a track record of creative idea generation and development.
  • Excellent and current creative and design trend knowledge and skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

We believe the best work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That's why we’ve adopted a hybrid approach, with teams in the office around four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.

Coley Porter Bell, a WPP company, is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without discrimination or regard to particular characteristics. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect in which everyone feels they belong and has the same opportunities to progress in their careers.
