Job Description

Veeam, a global leader in data resilience, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Quality Assurance team in Warsaw. This role involves monitoring and improving on-prem (VMware ESXi) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for performance testing. Key responsibilities include managing storage systems, enhancing Ansible playbooks, creating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, automating metric collection, and providing infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with hypervisors, configuration tools, CI/CD, public clouds, and PowerShell, contributing to the future of data resilience.
Must have:
  • Monitor, manage and improve on-prem (VMware ESXi) and Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for QA team.
  • Monitor and manage storage systems like NetApp, Pure and MinIO.
  • Improve currently used Ansible playbooks and roles to support faster test lab deployments.
  • Manage, create new CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for deploying labs and making configuration changes.
  • Automate collection of metrics from test labs to Grafana/Victoriametrics.
  • Support team infrastructure and labs with issues and handle incidents.
  • Constantly improve tools used in the team and suggest improvements.
  • Good experience with on-prem hosted hypervisors and management tools (VMware ESXi, vCenter).
  • Experience with system configuration tools (Ansible, packer or similar).
  • CI/CD experience with Jenkins or similar (Gitlab CI, TeamCity).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure or AWS public clouds, including VM instances, s3 storage, networking, monitoring.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell is mandatory.
  • Collaborate effectively with QA Performance engineers to create automation.
  • Experience with any observability stack (Grafana, Prometheus, etc).
  • Analyze infrastructure for weaknesses, mitigate incidents, and implement changes to prevent future issues.
  • Dynamic and adaptive mindset, clear logical thinking and ability to complete tasks promptly with minimal supervision.
Good to have:
  • Previous experience or interest in System Performance Testing
  • Previous experience with Veeam products
  • Database management skills, especially Postgres
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming/scripting languages

The Veeam Quality Assurance team invites you to work on Veeam’s products together with Veeam QA professionals in Warsaw.

Your tasks will include:

  • Monitor, manage and improve on-prem (VMware ESXi) and Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for QA team responsible for performance testing of several Veeam products
  • Monitor and manage storage systems like NetApp, Pure and MinIO
  • Improve currently used Ansible playbooks and roles to support faster test lab deployments, add functionality to support new components
  • Manage, create new CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for deploying labs, making changes in the configurations, etc
  • Help to automate collection of metrics from test labs to Grafana/Victoriametrics
  • Support team infrastructure and labs with issues and handle incidents
  • Constantly improve tools used in the team, suggest improvements

What we expect from you:

  • Good experience with on-prem hosted hypervisors and management tools (VMware ESXi, vCenter). Storages, Networking, VM management
  • Experience with system configuration tools (Ansible, packer or similar)
  • CI/CD experience Jenkins or similar (Gitlab CI, TeamCity)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure or AWS public clouds. Main components and services (VM instances, s3 storage services, networking, monitoring, configuration via “infrastructure as a code” approaches)
  • Knowledge of PowerShell is mandatory
  • Collaborate effectively with QA Performance engineers to create automation that enhances and accelerates their tasks
  • Experience with any observability stack (Grafana, Prometheus, etc)
  • Analyze infrastructure for weaknesses, mitigate incidents, and implement changes to prevent future issues
