Springer Nature is seeking a Digital Media Programmer to join their Macmillan Education brand. The role involves developing, managing, and coordinating multimedia technology projects and creating innovative educational proposals. Responsibilities include leading EdTech and digital art projects, developing user-centered software solutions, creating new digital educational resources and applications, and proposing technology solutions for schools in Latin America. The position requires coordinating global and interdisciplinary teams, overseeing the integration of multimedia into educational platforms, defining project scope, ensuring product accessibility, and managing project changes.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, IT, or related fields
  • Proficiency in Java, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, Linux, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML5, Laravel, JavaScript, Backbone, GIT, React
  • At least 7 years of experience in EdTech projects
  • Experience with graphic design tools
  • C1 English level (High - Advanced)
Good to have:
  • Experience with Design Thinking / UX / CX
  • Master's degree in design, digital art, IT management, or related fields
  • Familiarity with Scrum / Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodology (PMI)

General Objective of the Position:

Responsible for the development, management, and coordination of multimedia technology projects within the Innovation and Digital Transformation Management department, as well as the creation of innovative educational proposals, meeting the high-quality standards of Macmillan Education and Ediciones Castillo.

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead EdTech, multimedia, and digital art projects.
  • Develop software to create digital solutions for the organization with a customer/user-centered approach (UX/CX).
  • Develop new educational and organizational digital resources, applications, and solutions.
  • Propose innovative technology solutions for schools in Latin America.
  • Coordinate global and interdisciplinary work teams. Oversee the development and integration of applications, digital resources, and multimedia into educational platforms, ensuring product accessibility under international standards.
  • Assist in defining the scope and objectives of projects, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure the quality of features and digital products developed by the innovation management team.
  • Coordinate projects, collaborators, and external digital providers to ensure flawless project execution.
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate risk verification and control techniques.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming: Java, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, Linux systems, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML5, Laravel framework, web administration, JavaScript, Backbone, GIT, and React. Knowledge of statistical analysis software.
  • At least 7 years of experience in EdTech projects and using graphic design tools.
  • English level C1 (High - Advanced) – required.

Desired:

  • Experience with Design Thinking / UX / CX for product innovation.
  • Ideally, a Master’s degree in design, digital art, IT management, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Scrum / Agile methodologies for project management.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodology (PMI).
