About the Role

We are looking for a strong Java developer who is open to cross-skilling to Mendix, a leading low-code development platform. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of core Java concepts (OOPs, collections, exception handling, etc.), web application development, API development, microservices architecture, and deployment processes.

This role will be in our Pune office on a hybrid working model.

Role Responsibilities:

• Cross-skill to Mendix (training will be provided)
• Work with Java/Spring Boot best practices
• Develop and deploy web applications
• Implement microservices and work with deployment processes (CI/CD)
• Collaborate on global projects and troubleshoot performance issues

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

• Strong experience in Java (core Java, OOPs, collections, exception handling)
• Knowledge of database
• Experience in microservices, API development and deployment processes
• Familiarity with code repositories (SVN/Gitlab)
• Experience in web-based development applications

Desirable

• Knowledge of low code platforms
• Excellent communication skills

What you will be doing:

Within 3 months you will:

• Onboarding and familiarization with Publishing domain and organization’s culture
• Dive into the existing implementations and work closely with the team to understand landscape
• Learn about best practices and development standards

By 3-6 months you will:

• Begin taking on more significant development tasks and user stories
• Work independently on certain project components
• Take an active role in mentoring and grooming junior team members
• Deepen your technical knowledge for efficient development and continuously share these insights

By 6-12 months you will:

• Take lead on development initiatives
• Demonstrate ability to design and implement complex solutions
• Actively identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
• Leverage your experience to provide valuable contributions to the domain

Throughout your first year in the Senior Developer role, you will continue to play an integral part in our projects, progressively taking on more responsibility and contributing to the growth and success of the team and organization.

About You:

• 5 to 9 years of overall software coding experience Knowledge of Integrating Mendix applications with other tools and technologies.
• Proficiency in Web Service technologies, including REST and MicroService.
• Knowledge of UI Technologies such as CSS and JavaScript.
• Strong hold of Java.
• Experience with GIT and CI/CD pipeline.
• Commitment to code quality, ensuring software is robust and maintainable.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly GCP.
• Understanding of working methodologies, including Agile and SCRUM.
• Good communication and a proactive attitude.
• Aspiration to take a lead on any development related work and deliver quality.
