Job Summary
The Marketing Manager, Author Marketing, Greater China is responsible for the successful development of marketing plans and campaigns for all 2C customer groups served by Springer Nature's Research Publishing division. The role aims to drive submission to journals and support book acquisition goals in Greater China. Key responsibilities include collaborating with global teams, understanding local market nuances, managing the marketing calendar, analyzing industry trends, and optimizing channel mix. The manager will also develop customer journey-centric marketing automation streams and report to internal and external stakeholders.
Must Have
- Collaborate with global Marketing Strategy/Planning and key strategic business units in China
- Gather critical inputs and insights, ensuring alignment with global objectives and local market nuances
- Prioritize and coordinate budget, resources delivering scalability, efficiency and reporting
- Understand the needs of the Chinese market and develop tactical marketing plans to support revenue and business targets
- Strong focus on book author acquisition and author engagement via interconnecting between B2C and B2B
- Prioritize and manage the China-focused marketing calendar and resources
- Stay informed of industry trends, analyze market segments and competitor activities
- Manage an effective channel mix and marketing tactics optimized for the Chinese market
- Develop customer journey–centric and lifecycle–driven marketing automation streams
- Execute special projects and other duties as assigned by the manager
- Reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital marketing
- Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns
- Strong experience collaborating within global teams
- Demonstrable digital marketing skills cross multiple channels
- Extensive knowledge of B2C marketing funnels, digital channels, and execution tactics
- Strong expertise in B2B demand generation
- Demonstrated familiarity with essential marketing technologies (Google Analytics, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo or equivalents)
- Excellent analytical skills, experience of campaign monitoring, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to set measurable and achievable targets
- Ability to interact with other functional groups and gain cooperation from others
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong ability to self-organise, prioritise, multitask, and work under pressure
- Strong team player
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Fluent Mandarin and English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with global Marketing Strategy/Planning and key strategic business units in China to gather critical inputs and insights, ensuring alignment with global objectives and local market nuances
- Work with the Head of Author Marketing, Greater China to prioritize and coordinate budget, resources delivering scalability, efficiency and reporting as required
- Understand the needs of the Chinese market and develop tactical marketing plans to support revenue and business targets, with a strong focus on book author acquisition and author engagement via interconnecting between B2C and B2B
- Prioritize and manage the China-focused marketing calendar and resources to ensure operational efficiency and timely execution
- Stay informed of industry trends, analyze market segments and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and enhance campaign effectiveness
- Manage an effective channel mix and marketing tactics optimized for the Chinese market, contributing to scalable best practices
- Develop customer journey–centric and lifecycle–driven marketing automation streams aligned with business goals
- Execute special projects and other duties as assigned by the manager

Experience, skills and qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital marketing; prior exposure to the STM industry is highly desirable
- Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns
- Strong experience collaborating within global teams, with a deep understanding of regional market differences and their impact on customer needs
