The Director of Commerce Project Management will mature the project management practice and team leadership. They will lead project management and ensure successful solution delivery. Responsibilities include advancing Merkle's Commerce Implementation methodology, leading the Project Management team, managing Commerce implementations, developing project plans, overseeing daily operations, building client relationships, and ensuring projects follow approved methodologies. This role involves client satisfaction, solution quality, resource performance, financial management, and stakeholder management. The primary point of escalation internally and externally.

Job Description:

The Director of Commerce Project Management will mature the project management practice, team leadership and direct oversight for our client specific projects. You will guide successful solution delivery across an assigned portfolio of clients.

You will have overall responsibility for implementation and delivery of best-of-breed technology enabled marketing solutions. You will be our customer's primary contact and will ensure communication amongst the entire project team and stakeholders. You will understand our customer's business and marketing requirements and lead the implementation team, develop the project scope, manage project plans and schedules, handle resource scheduling and tracking, maintain status documents and ensure that the quality of deliverables are met on time and within established budget.

There is a focus on client satisfaction and engagement, solution quality, resource performance, financial management and stakeholder management. You will be the primary point of escalation internally and externally and will guide the appropriate communications among stakeholders.

This is a remote position reporting to Head of Delivery and Operations. You will manage a small team of people.

Responsibilities:

  • You will advance Merkle's Commerce Implementation methodology and project management practices.
  • You will lead the Project Management team, fostering career growth and delivery excellence.
  • You will lead and participate in client pitches for commerce services.
  • Create standard project management assets.
  • You will manage Commerce implementations from creation to deployment.
  • Develop the Statement of Work and project plan.
  • Summarize weekly project reports, highlighting milestones and issues.
  • Oversee daily operations of multiple projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • You will build relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Coordinate with our clients, vendors, and Merkle teams to support project delivery.
  • Ensure projects follow approved methodologies and best practices.
  • You will be a trusted advisor to our clients, especially during issues.
  • Collaborate with resource management to secure qualified Merkle resources.
  • Manage project finances to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in project management leadership, working with stakeholders.
  • 10+ years managing commerce or digital development projects using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Client management skills, achieving positive outcomes for clients and Merkle.
  • Simplify complex concepts to achieve results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite and common project management tools.
  • Manage and delegate resources in complex, matrixed teams.
  • Work with senior-level resources to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $136,000-$219,650. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
