CookUnity is seeking a Director of IT to oversee the smooth operation of its IT and OT systems, manage IT staff, and implement technology solutions aligned with business objectives. This hybrid role, based in Brooklyn, requires a candidate with a strong background in IT management and proven leadership abilities. The Director will be responsible for system installation, maintenance, security, policy implementation, project leadership, budget management, and technical support, ensuring enterprise-grade policies are developed for a high-growth organization.
Must have:
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and security posture of computer systems, hardware, and networks.
  • Manage a small team of IT professionals abroad and on-site with MSPs.
  • Design and implement IT policies and procedures around procurement, End User Lifecycle Management, Identity and Access Management.
  • Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Plan effectively across the company with multiple stakeholders on objectives.
  • Manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness in all operations.
  • Work closely with Information Security team to ensure endpoints and networks are monitored and patched.
  • Provide technical support to staff and ensure IT and OT needs are met.
  • Develop enterprise-grade policies for a high-growth organization from the ground up.

Job Details

The role:

We are seeking a Director of IT

to ensure the smooth operation of our IT & OT systems, manage IT staff, and implement technology solutions that align with our business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT management and a proven ability to lead teams effectively.

Please note: This is a hybrid role based at our Brooklyn office.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and security posture of computer systems, hardware, and networks.
  • Manage a small team of IT professionals abroad and on-site with the addition of Managed Service Providers (MSP) where needed.
  • Design and implement IT policies and procedures around procurement, End User Lifecycle Management, Identity and Access Management
  • Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Plan effectively across the company with multiple stakeholders on objectives that support the business technology needs
  • Manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness in all operations.
  • Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure endpoints and networks are monitored and patched.
  • Provide technical support to staff and ensure that IT and OT needs are identified and met.
  • Develop enterprise-grade policies for a high-growth organization from the ground up.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as an IT Director or in a similar role (typically 7+ years).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software systems, networking, data governance, and cybersecurity best practices and frameworks. (NIST)
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage personnel effectively and foster a collaborative team environment.

Preferred requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Pay Range for this position

$160,000 - $190,000 USD
