Job Description

The Director Operation Group Power & Mobility Components drives operational performance, manages resources, and contributes to industrial strategy across Power & Mobility Components (PMC) sites. This role ensures alignment on KPIs, leads continuous improvement, and fosters collaboration to achieve operational excellence. The director provides strategic direction and promotes a culture of shared success, enabling PMC to deliver consistent and scalable results.
Must have:
  • Accountable to reach Safety Quality Cost Delivery and footprint transformation targets
  • Steer sites for Operations financial Metrics including, but not limited to OPEX, CAPEX, VCP, NET Material Deflation & cost variances
  • Drive operational performance through lean/continuous improvement/automation/digitalization as well as process maturity and compliance across PMC sites
  • Accountable for workload balancing across sites
  • BA/BS in engineering, business, or related field
  • Approximately 15+ years of experience as Managing Director and/or Senior Operations in international environment
  • Experience in lowering a company’s costs and increasing productivity and revenue
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and influence a dispersed group of leaders without direct authority over them
  • Proven track record of building and cultivating relationships with team members as well as key internal and external stakeholders

How will you make a difference?

The Director Operation Group Power & Mobility Components is responsible for driving operational performance, resource management, and contributing to the industrial strategy across Power & Mobility Components (PMC) sites. This role ensures alignment on key performance indicators, drives continuous improvement initiatives and fosters collaboration across all PMC locations to achieve operational excellence. By providing strategic direction and promoting a culture of shared success, the Director of Operations enables PMC to deliver consistent and scalable results.

Ownership and key responsibilities

  • Accountable to reach Safety Quality Cost Delivery and footprint transformation targets
  • Steer sites for Operations financial Metrics including, but not limited to OPEX, CAPEX, VCP, NET Material Deflation & cost variances
  • Drive operational performance through lean/continuous improvement/automation/digitalization as well as process maturity and compliance across PMC sites
  • Accountable for workload balancing across sites

What will your typical day look like?

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE ACROSS PMC SITES

  • Drive operational performance and continuous improvement across PMC sites
  • Steer sites to reach SQCD targets, ensures On Time Delivery
  • Generate positive variances year-over-year, avoids negative standard cost variances
  • Ensure safety standards deployment across sites within the region and EHS performance
  • Drive the sustainability improvement plan across sites within the region

FOOTPRINT, CAPACITY AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Balance capacity / load across sites optimizing manufacturing footprint, including potential transfers and synergies.;
  • Validate CAPEX across the PMC sites
  • Consolidate, challenges and validates SIOP processes at PMC sites

INTERFACE WITH COMMERCIAL TEAMS

  • Coordinate with Sites to provide the Industrial strategy inputs for bids and product management

Key KPIs

  • Sustained improvement of EHS KPIs
  • QCD Performance improvement for the PMC sites including variances and VCP
  • Achieve Footprint Transformation targets as per agreed business plans
  • Execute CAPEX programs according to agreed business plan

  • Group President, PMC, with integration into Transit Operations n-1 leadership team

What do we want to know about you?

  • BA/BS in engineering, business, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Approximately 15+ years of experience as Managing Director and/or Senior Operations in international environment.
