As a member of the Transit division, you will be responsible for optimizing international production processes with a focus on cost savings, productivity, and quality, while bridging R&D developments and production to improve manufacturability and functionality. Your typical day involves optimizing international production processes, collaborating with R&D, addressing technical challenges, leading projects for cost improvements and innovative solutions, and managing a small team of Manufacturing Engineers (5-10 colleagues), including setting daily goals, managing priorities, handling leave requests, and acting as a point of contact for other departments.
Must have:
  • HBO work and thinking level
  • 5-10 years experience as Manufacturing Engineer
  • At least 2 years experience leading a team
  • Solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience with automation
  • Experience with Lean methodologies
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per quarter to China or India

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Transit division, you will be responsible for optimizing international production processes with a focus on cost savings, productivity, and quality, while bridging R&D developments and production to improve manufacturability and functionality.

What do we want to know from you?

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with HBO work and thinking level.
  • You travel 1-2 times per quarter to destinations in China or India.
  • You have 5-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer and at least 2 years of experience leading a team.
  • You think in solutions, and you like working with automation.
  • You have experience with Lean.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

What does your typical day look like?

  • Optimizing our (international) production processes, with a keen eye for cost savings, efficient productivity, and quality.
  • You are the link between R&D developments and production and contribute to solutions for manufacturability and functionality.
  • You use your customer-oriented expertise in close collaboration with colleagues to tackle technical challenges and improve the performance of our machines and production.
  • You lead projects, recommend cost improvements, and implement innovative solutions that strengthen our competitive position.
  • You lead a small team of Manufacturing Engineers (5 to 10 colleagues) and provide first-line management, such as: setting daily goals, managing daily priorities, handling leave requests and other administrative tasks, identifying development and performance issues, and acting as a point of contact for other departments, providing updates on actions and input for technical discussions.
  • You are involved in capturing knowledge and information.
