Job Summary
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for a wide range of electrical construction projects. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, and general contractors to ensure competitive, profitable bids. Key responsibilities include reviewing electrical drawings, performing take-offs, developing cost estimates, evaluating vendor quotes, preparing budgets, collaborating with project management, and maintaining industry relationships.
Must Have
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed take-offs and quantity estimates for labor, material, and equipment
- Develop complete project cost estimates and proposals
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Prepare budgets, schedules, and value-engineering options when required
- Collaborate with project management team to transition awarded jobs into execution
- Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an electrical estimator (commercial/institutional/healthcare)
- Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and electrical construction practices
- Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
