Job Description

As an Engineer, Infotainment and Audio, you will be part of an iconic brand, designing and developing audio systems for electric vehicles. Your responsibilities will include designing audio systems, collaborating with various teams, developing advanced audio algorithms, conducting thorough testing, and staying updated with industry trends. You will also be responsible for the integration of audio components into vehicle interiors and optimizing audio systems to meet industry standards. This role is based in Novi, Michigan and requires in-office attendance and occasional travel.

  • Knowledge of audio signal processing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver's license.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Design and development of audio systems for electric vehicles, including sound signal processing, speaker architecture and packaging, and acoustic optimization.
  • Work collaboratively with the Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and User Experience teams to integrate audio components seamlessly into vehicle interiors.
  • Develop and implement advanced audio algorithms and signal processing techniques to enhance sound quality and noise cancellation in the EV cabin.
  • Conduct thorough testing, evaluation, and participate in the tuning of audio systems to meet industry standards and deliver superior acoustic performance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in automotive audio to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure successful production and integration of audio components.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Travel: Travel up to 10% of the time. Domestic travel required. International travel may be required. Passport required.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in audio engineering, with a proven track record of developing high-quality audio systems for automotive applications.
  • Profound knowledge of audio signal processing, acoustic principles, and psychoacoustics.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard audio analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Audacity, SoundForge, Audio Weaver).
  • Experience with designing audio systems for electric vehicles is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize audio systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with EV technology trends and a passion for sustainable transportation solutions.
  • Audio system design, testing and validation of both entertainment and handsfree systems.
  • Knowledge of tuning tools of entertainment and handsfree systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $130,000.00 - $145,000.00
