GlossGenius is building an ecosystem to empower small business owners, particularly in beauty and wellness, by providing comprehensive business management tools like booking, marketing, analytics, and payment processing. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a Growth Engineering team crucial for delivering value to over 100,000 business owners. This role involves developing senior and staff engineers, defining technical and product strategy with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the execution of key initiatives to scale the platform and enhance engineering velocity and reliability.

Must Have

  • Lead and develop a team of senior and staff engineers

We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

About the Role

GlossGenius has been empowering independent entrepreneurs in the beauty and wellness space to pursue their dreams and successfully grow their businesses. As we continue to scale, we're strengthening our Growth Engineering team. As an Engineering Manager at GlossGenius, you will lead a team critical to delivering value to our 100,000+ business owners.

Depending on the team, you'll either be supporting product engineering teams that build customer-facing experiences or platform engineering teams that provide the foundation and infrastructure for all of engineering. Your team will work across backend, frontend, and mobile stacks to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Whether you're driving features that directly impact our customers' success or enabling engineering velocity and reliability across the organization, your leadership will be key to helping GlossGenius move faster, build better, and scale with confidence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and develop a team of senior and staff engineers, understanding their skills and fostering their professional growth to achieve daily tasks and long-term career goals.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other teams to define the long-term technical and product strategy and the necessary steps for its realization.
  • Prioritize, plan, and ensure team and cross-functional alignment to execute key initiatives and achieve business results.
  • Establish and implement effective engineering processes focused on quality and progress in key product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with recruiting to build and retain a high-performing engineering team by attracting top talent.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years as a people manager.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with fellow EMs, PMs and designers, to develop plans, manage expectations, and deliver new products and features.
  • Strong business acumen and customer-centric approach, supported by data analytics skills.
  • Solid technical understanding, capable of guiding technical discussions.
  • Experience in recruiting and building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The starting base salary for this role is between $193,000 - $250,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
