The Engineering Program Manager II at Gigamon Chennai will lead the Chennai site release and program activities, coordinating with Development, DevOps, and QA to ensure deliverables are met. The role involves driving all aspects of the release, working closely with local teams to meet schedules, and leading daily/weekly meetings to address risks and dependencies. The manager will also work with leads to understand features and delivery plans, manage release milestones, and help with cross-program planning. Furthermore, they will contribute to an agile environment, measure and monitor progress, and identify automation processes while communicating potential risks. This position requires strong program management skills, especially in networking or embedded systems, and demands collaboration in a fast-paced environment to achieve project deliverables.
Must Have:
  • Minimum 6-8 years program/release management experience.
  • BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Engineering (Networking preferred).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Gigamon Chennai is looking for an energetic, motivated Program Manager to work closely with the R&D team to drive and manage SW releases and strategic programs. The ideal candidate will have strong program management skills, preferably in the networking area or other embedded systems devices with scalable fabric solutions. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. The right candidate will help the various engineering teams plan and deliver in accordance with the release plans Will also work closely on bug scrubs, defect reduction, and other quality deliverables. Working as part of a growing, dynamic team, the candidate will thrive in a cross-functional team environment to lead and achieve project deliverables and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact to the product lines.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Chennai site release and program activities
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Development, DevOps, & QA to ensure that all deliverables are met
  • Drive all aspects of the release and work closely with the local dev/test teams to drive to the release/program schedule
  • Lead daily/weekly meetings to address risks, dependencies, and bug scrubs to enable the team to make progress.
  • Work individually with leads to understand the features and the delivery plan.
  • Perform routine project activities required to manage release by test production and environments.
  • Manage and comply with release schedule and main release milestones throughout programs.
  • Help cross-program planning to oversee dependencies and solve conflicts.
  • Work in an agile work environment and help the teams deliver products on time with high quality.
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations
  • Work with dev teams to understand the impacts of branches and code merges
  • Identify processes for automation and ensure automation is implemented with a focus on efficiency
  • Identify and communicate risks that could affect the release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Proficient in excel, MSFT project and other tools to drive a metrics focused organization

What you’ve done:  

  • BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech (Engineering) preferably in networking and/or firmware development.
  • Minimum of 6 years to 8 years of program management/release management experience
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a high-achieving team or independently.
  • Capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines to solve critical issues
  • Able to work equally well with people in creative as well as technical positions
  • Strong oral and written communicator, with good interpersonal skills; able to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team and across organizations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support releases for teams across the globe.
