Entry Level Electrical Fabricator
Adirondack Studios – Argyle, New York
Adirondack Studios looks to add an energetic and artistic Electrical Fabricator to our growing team. This team member must be a problem solver and hold proficiency to assist in building themed scenic elements for a variety of entertainment projects, including but not limited to Opera, Theme Park, Museum, Public Art, and Live Entertainment. This is an excellent opportunity to use your electrical installation skills to bring smiles to people’s faces.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical and electrical fabrication for lighting integration and automation control
- Ensure product meets appropriate standards and designs
- Consult with the Electrical Manager for design modifications and work together to document those changes
- Possible travel for company business as required
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications (Required):
- Comfort with AC and DC power circuits
- General hand and power tool proficiency
- Willingness to produce within shifting schedules and tight deadlines
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in various stages of production
- Computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Diverse problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a safe, positive manner, showing respect to others and contributing to the team
Preferred:
- Experience with Audio, Video, Lighting, and/or Show Control within an entertainment environment
- Ability to solder, rework, & repair
- Ability to read and understand schematic and mechanical drawings
Knowledge:
- High school education or G.E.D. and/or one year certificate from college or technical school, or minimum three to six months related experience and/or training
- Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
Work Environment:
- There are physical requirements associated with this position. The work environment is that of a typical production facility
Benefits include:
- Personal/Sick Time accrual of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked immediately upon hire
- Vacation Accrual: 4% of hourly compensation accumulated annually, payable in March of each year or within 30 days of the end of employment. Accrual begins after the initial 1000 hours worked
- Participation in ADK Studios 401K plan following 90 days of employment and then at quarterly enrollment periods
- Participation in ADK Studios Medical, Dental, and Vision plans following 90 days of employment
- Participation in the ADK Studios Profit Sharing Plan following 3 years of employment. Employee must work a minimum of 1000 hours per calendar year
This position is located in Argyle, New York (1 hour north of Albany and approximately 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls). The shift is anticipated to be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Range of Rates:
$19.57 – $24.00 per hour + benefits – Per Union CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)
