As an Expert Software Engineer, Backend, you will contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of critical anti-cheat systems powering the fight against cheating in Call of Duty. Your responsibilities include developing scalable backend systems for millions of users, utilizing languages like Java, C#, Rust, C++, or Go, and working with distributed system architecture. You will also be involved in deploying code to cloud environments using Kubernetes and working within a Git-based codebase. You will be expected to take on difficult technical challenges and provide technical mentorship to team members.
Must have:
  • 12+ years backend systems experience.
  • Excellent programming skills in Java, C#, Rust, C++, or Go.
  • Experience in distributed system architecture.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Stream Processing Platforms.
  • Experience with Data Warehouses.
  • Executed large scale data migrations.

Job Description:

Your Mission

The Ricochet Platform Team creates and operates the tools utilized by anti-cheat specialists to maintain the integrity of Call of Duty. We are in the process of building out a new technology stack that combines data from different sources to detect cheaters quicker and more accurately. As an expert in backend engineering, you will contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of critical anti-cheat systems powering the fight against cheating in Call of Duty.

Minimum requirements:

Experience  

  • 12+ years relevant work experience developing scalable backend systems serving millions of users
  • Excellent programming skills in Java, C#, Rust, C++, or, preferably, Go.
  • Experience in distributed system architecture with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance demonstrated across multiple projects
  • Deploying code to cloud environments using Kubernetes
  • Worked in a code base that uses Git

Extra points:

Experience  

  • Experience with modern data technologies such as Stream Processing Platforms (e.g. Kafka, Flink), Data Warehouses (e.g Databricks, Snowflake), OLAP Databases (e.g. Pinot, Druid), NewSQL Databases (e.g. CockroachDB, TiDB)
  • Has executed large scale data migrations
