As a Expert Graphics Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our rendering technology, ensuring that Diablo IV delivers top-tier visuals using our proprietary engine. Your role will involve hands-on coding, debugging, and optimizing features alongside a sizable team. Collaborating closely with artists, you'll create unique, realistic visuals that captivate and immerse our players, making this role a pivotal part of our rendering-focused strategy.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY, or Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve our bespoke renderer, striving for excellence.

  • Lead complex initiatives and drive them to completion.

  • Design and implement new systems through innovative solutions.

  • Profile and optimize to meet our performance and scalability targets to improve player experience.

  • Debug and maintain existing systems, actively seeking ways to improve them.

  • Provide suggestions to improve workflows, pipelines, and processes.

  • Collaborate with artists, guiding them to realize the vision for Diablo.

  • Assist the leadership team in comprehending the risk profiles of different initiatives and suggest mitigation strategies.

  • Mentor and coach team members, and be a force multiplier.

  • Participate in code reviews and other software quality assurance activities.

  • Stay up to date with the latest and the greatest techniques in computer graphics.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working on real-time rendering engines.

  • Experience in shipping multiple AAA games.

  • Proficiency in C++ and shader languages.

  • Console programming experience.

  • Strong skills in graphics performance analysis and optimization.

  • Excellent debugging skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with people with varying technical backgrounds.

Extra Points

  • In-depth knowledge of industry-standard graphics APIs.

  • Familiarity with custom engines.

  • Strong 3D math skills.

  • Experience with applying and supporting art workflows and tools.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
