Job Description

Joyteractive is seeking an experienced Lead Unity Developer to oversee Unity development across all studio projects, including current and upcoming titles. This role involves managing the Unity development team, establishing technical processes and standards, making architectural decisions, and mentoring the team through code reviews and complex issue resolution. The Lead Unity Developer will also manage priorities, plan tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance technical quality with iteration speed.

Must Have:
  • Take ownership of Unity development across all studio projects.
  • Manage the work of the Unity development team.
  • Build and maintain technical processes and development standards for Unity.
  • Make architectural decisions, maintain and improve project structure.
  • Mentor and guide the development team, assist with code reviews, provide feedback, and resolve technical issues.
  • Manage priorities and plan tasks within the team.
  • Maintain a balance between technical quality and iteration speed.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years of commercial experience with Unity.
  • Strong background in C#, solid knowledge of architectural patterns, and ability to design sustainable solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in performance optimization, working with the asset pipeline, and integrating SDKs and third-party services.
  • Experience in managing priorities and task planning.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.

For what tasks?

  • Take ownership of Unity development across all studio projects – both the current product and upcoming titles.
  • Manage the work of the Unity development team.
  • Build and maintain technical processes and development standards for Unity.
  • Make architectural decisions, maintain and improve the project structure across the studio.
  • Mentor and guide the development team: assist with code reviews, provide structured feedback, and help resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage priorities and plan tasks within the team.
  • Maintain a balance between technical quality and iteration speed.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Game Design, Art, QA, Data).

What kind of professional are you looking for?

  • 3+ years of commercial experience with Unity.
  • Strong background in C#, solid knowledge of architectural patterns, and ability to design sustainable solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in performance optimization, working with the asset pipeline, and integrating SDKs and third-party services.
