Job Description

This full-time Field Supervisor - Trainee position at Foster Farms involves overseeing fryer performance, quality, and production, including bird health and field compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating ranch functions, managing labor, and developing team members. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and computer skills, along with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Candidates should have at least 6 months of chicken grow-out supervisory experience and a good driving record.
Must have:
  • Responsible for fryer performance, quality, and production.
  • Control and maintain bird health with available facilities and equipment.
  • Implement and control field compliance with grow out, disease prevention, safety, and quality programs.
  • Coordinate all ranch functions and ensure accurate completion.
  • Coordinate labor needs, schedule accordingly, complete wage records, and personnel evaluations.
  • Develop and train Team Members.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Administer Team Member disciplinary actions and assist with hiring as needed.
  • Minimum 6 months of successful chicken grow out supervisory experience.
  • Strong Animal Science background.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership/supervisor skills with ability to act independently and evaluate fairly.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, late and early morning hours.
  • Good computer skills and ability to create and analyze data.
  • Ability to interface with all support groups, departments, and upper management.
  • Ability to work independently/unsupervised and strong time management skills.
  • Must have and maintain a good DMV driving record.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful.

Job Description

  • Responsible for fryer performance, quality, and production. Includes: controlling and maintaining bird health with aid of all available facilities, and equipment to include vehicular, industrial safety and maintenance awareness programs. Implementing and controlling field compliance with grow out, disease prevention, safety and quality programs.
  • Coordinating all ranch functions and insuring accurate completion.
  • Coordinating labor needs and scheduling accordingly completing wage records and personnel evaluations on all subordinate Team Members.
  • Team Member development and training. Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed. Administer Team Member disciplinary actions and assist with the hiring as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of successful chicken grow out supervisory experience.
  • Strong Animal Science background (a Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field is preferred).
