Job Description

Wargaming is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Partner to join its Financial Planning and Analysis function. This strategic role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across various functions/products, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and facilitating informed decision-making by senior management. The successful candidate will enhance operations by providing effective commercial procedures and initiating change to achieve key operational, commercial, and financial targets. Beyond reporting, the role emphasizes the ability to derive value from financial information and inspire its utilization, requiring a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and sound judgment.
Must have:
  • Active participation in group-wide financial planning process.
  • Coordinate with business unit leaders for financial models.
  • Analyse financial results, variances, and trends.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior managers.
  • Support business leaders in understanding financial performance.

Job Overview

Wargaming is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Partner to join our Financial Planning and Analysis function. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities across a number of functions/products, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and facilitating informed decision-making by senior management.

The successful candidate will add value and improve our operations by providing effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement.

This is very much a strategic role. Information and reporting are just the tip of the iceberg. What really matters is your ability to see the value in the information you provide and to inspire others to make use of it.

What will you do?

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Active participation in the implementation (and improvement) of the group-wide financial planning process, including annual budgeting, forecasts, and long-range strategic planning
  • Coordinate with business unit leaders and finance teams to gather inputs, assumptions, and drivers for financial models
  • Analyse financial results, variances, and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to executive leadership

Functional Business Partnership:

  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams
  • Support business leaders and their teams understand their financial performance
  • Deliver strong insights into functional performance to drive budget owner accountability and detailed insight into what is driving consolidated financial performance
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic initiatives, investment opportunities, cost optimisation and business performance
  • Conduct financial modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis to assess potential outcomes and risks associated with strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with business units to develop performance metrics and dashboards for tracking key business drivers
  • Monitor actual financial results against forecasts and budgets, identifying deviations and drivers of performance

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Contribute to the review and enhancement of FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Work collaboratively with FP&A team members & cross functional teams to implement best practices in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis to enhance decision-making and resource allocation
  • Lead initiatives to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting, leveraging technology and automation where applicable

Teamwork:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the FP&A team and the business unit responsible
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with other finance and business functions to support organizational goals

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis roles, with a track record of achievement
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to diverse audiences
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and contribute to the development of organizational strategy
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and being a part of deeply complex strategy discussions while maintaining operational excellence
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic and changing multicultural environment

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Previous experience or interest in the video game industry is a strong plus
  • Ability to implement more structured financial processes while maintaining flexibility

Work mode

  • Hybrid - 3 days of work from the office (Can be based in either our Guildford, UK or Nicosia, Cyprus offices).
  • This role isn't eligible for relocation & immigration support.
  • Travel may be required occasionally.
  • The role may involve working across multiple time zones and interacting with international stakeholders.
