This Financial Accountant role at Xplor involves managing the general ledger, preparing IFRS consolidated and standalone financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Must Have:
  • Manage the general ledger, including monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations.
  • Produce IFRS consolidated results and standalone financial statements.
  • Ensure the Group’s financial accounting and reporting remains compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports, and cashflow statements.
  • Complete monthly prepayments, accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in Accounting.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform data and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software.
  • Professional accounting qualification, or working towards AAT or ACCA.

Job Description

Reporting into our Finance Manager, this role is responsible for the many aspects of the month end close process and for the fulfilment of other obligations such as tax and statutory reporting.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the FinTech landscape, with solid financial accounting and reporting experience and a desire to support with automating and streamlining processes.

  • General ledger management: Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations
  • Financial statement preparation: Production of IFRS consolidated results and stand alone financial statements.
  • Technical accounting: Key team member involved in pro-actively ensuring the Group’s financial accounting and reporting remains compliant with the relevant accounting standards.
  • Month end reporting: Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements. Completion of the monthly prepayments, accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Liaison with external Auditors, Bank Managers, ONS and Tax specialists.

Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.

Proactively identify new initiatives that could benefit the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in Accounting
  • Experienced in a Chartered Accounting firm can be advantageous
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiator who can develop ongoing working relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Professional accounting qualification, or working towards a qualification such as AAT or ACCA
