The role:
The FP&A Strategic Senior Consultant for Iron Mountain’s North America Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) business is a senior finance leader with full ownership of financial performance and strategic partnership responsibilities for a portfolio representing over 80% of Iron Mountain’s global ALM operations. This role serves as a key member of both the ALM Finance Leadership Team and the North America ALM Leadership Team, playing a critical role in driving performance, accountability, and growth across a rapidly scaling business. The role requires both leadership level support as well as being a “do-er”.
As a trusted business partner, this individual will be responsible for leading all core FP&A processes: including forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and performance analytics, while directly influencing business decisions that shape the unit’s financial trajectory. This role goes beyond reporting and analysis, focusing on proactive leadership, commercial insight, and the ability to challenge, guide, and support the broader leadership team to meet and exceed financial commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership & Ownership
- Own end-to-end financial planning and performance management for a +$500M revenue / +$100M profit portfolio
- Act as financial steward and strategic advisor to the General Manager and leadership team of North America ALM
- Lead the forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and monthly performance review cycles with rigor and discipline
- Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as a proactive thought partner to senior business leaders, influencing strategic decisions, growth initiatives (organic and inorganic), and cost optimization strategies
- Provide forward-looking insights and analysis that enable action-oriented decision-making
- Drive financial accountability and transparency through collaboration across operations, sales, and corporate functions
- Performance Analytics & Decision Support
- Deliver high-quality, data-driven insights to identify performance trends, emerging risks, and key value creation opportunities
- Connect operational and non-financial KPIs to financial outcomes; guide functional leaders in aligning actions with financial goals
- Maintain a dynamic Risk & Opportunity framework with clear mitigation and execution plans
- Culture of Accountability & Continuous Improvement
- Build and embed a culture of high performance, ownership, and data-driven decision-making across the finance and business teams
- Lead improvements in forecasting accuracy, planning processes, and reporting automation
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of business strategy with financial outcomes
- Executive Engagement & Influence
- Prepare and present financial results and forecasts to executive leadership with clear narratives, key insights, and recommended actions
- Influence and align with senior stakeholders across the organization, including Corporate FP&A, Treasury, and M&A teams
- M&A and Integration Support
- Support financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-close performance tracking for acquisitions within the ALM portfolio
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior-level FP&A leadership roles
- Proven experience leading financial strategy and performance management in a fast-paced, operationally complex business
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence decisions at the executive level
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and inspire teams (direct or matrixed), drive alignment, and execute through influence
