Job Description
Eataly is seeking a Fresh Market Artisan for its Short Hills location. The Artisan will be an expert in products and processes at fresh market retail stations, sharing knowledge with guests and recommending products. Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, ensuring retail supplies are stocked, stocking counters and displays, slicing, weighing, labeling, selling, and packaging products according to standards. The role also involves managing inter-departmental transfers for inventory accuracy and COGS, maintaining a visible presence on the floor interacting with guests and employees, and performing other assigned duties. This role requires availability for onsite work with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or move for up to 8 hours.
Must Have:
- 2+ years of food service experience
- Knowledge of steps of service
- Great communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Italian products
- Availability to work onsite with flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Job Description
An Artisan has expertise on products and processes at the fresh market retail stations at an Eataly. An Artisan shares knowledge about products and ingredients with guests and recommends products and portion sizes. Reports to the Store Operations Manager.
- Assists the retail counters with daily operations as needed to ensure counters are running smoothly
- Ensures retail supplies are in stock and being utilized properly at all stations
- Stocks counter and display refrigerators neatly, accurately and in a timely manner
- Slices, weighs, labels, displays, sells and packages products per department standards and guest specifications
- Manages transfers between departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
- Provides a steady presence on the floor, constantly interacting with guests, employees, vendors and visitors
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in food service
- Knowledge of steps of service
- Great communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Italian products

Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $18 - $24 per hour.
