Job Title: Game Designer

Iceflake Studios is seeking an experienced and creative Game Designer to join our team working on an exciting, yet-to-be-announced game for PC and consoles. We’re looking for someone who has a deep understanding of management game mechanics and a knack for balancing economies and functionalities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Balancing economies and functionalities
• Designing and documenting new in-game features
• Communicating these visions to the rest of the team effectively
• Ensuring our games are engaging and fun to play
• Proofing the design choices through testing

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Game Designer
• Basic mathematical skills
• Proficiency in Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of the game development process
• Broad knowledge of video games and popular culture
• Any creative writing and QA experience is considered an added advantage

Desired (but not required):

• Playing Paradox Games
• Knowledge and interest in developing strategy or management games
• Familiarity with programming or scripting
• Experience in related fields such as UX, Art, Sound or Programming
• Leading a team of designers
• Special interest in genres like fantasy, sci-fi or history

Our office is located within a walking distance from downtown Tampere. You will have the ability to work remotely, but due to the highly collaborative nature of the work we expect you to be able to work at the office as well.
