General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying material meets customer requirements and company expectations. This role involves moving, securing, stacking, and labeling lumber, operating a staple gun, and maintaining a clean work area. The position requires adherence to company policies and participation in safety programs.
Must have:
Move and secure lumber products and other materials as instructed.
Stack finished products according to bundle sizes and customer requirements.
Label material based on type, size, and count specifications.
Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy.
Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving work area.
Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
Record production on production sheets.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with other work areas by moving, loading, and unloading material carts.
Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
