Job Description

Version 1 is seeking a strategic and commercially astute Global Head of Insurance to lead its global insurance business. This senior leadership role, based in Ireland, involves driving the sector vision, shaping go-to-market strategy, strengthening domain capability, and scaling delivery across core markets including Ireland, the UK, and the US. The role focuses on defining global strategy, driving multi-year growth, developing differentiated propositions, client engagement, solution development, global delivery oversight, and financial management of the insurance P&L.
Good To Have:

  • Deep exposure to platform modernisation, AI/ML adoption, and cloud transformations
Must Have:
  • Define and execute the global strategy for Insurance in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Drive multi-year growth plans across Tier 1 and Tier 2 insurers, brokers, reinsurers, lessors etc. and other such entities
  • Develop differentiated propositions in areas such as underwriting transformation, claims automation, risk & compliance, policy administration, and aircraft asset lifecycle management
  • Lead strategic relationships with key Insurance clients, driving account growth, stakeholder mapping, and multi-tower engagement
  • Build and nurture executive relationships with CIOs, COOs, Chief Underwriters, Heads of Claims, and other Insurance leaders
  • Collaborate with practices (Data, Cloud, AI, Digital) and domain teams to develop in-house techno function solutions and packaged business capabilities
  • Own existing Insurtech and related techno-function partnerships to expand Version 1 offerings
  • Oversee a globally distributed delivery team and ensure high-quality program execution
  • Mentor regional domain leaders and support leadership hiring across key markets
  • Own global P&L for Insurance, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and account expansion
  • Extensive experience in the insurance market, with proven experience in leadership role(s)
  • Proven experience in growing and leading global teams across consulting, transformation, or managed services
  • Strong understanding of global insurance markets (Insurance Brokers, Life & Pensions, P&C, Reinsurance)
  • Prior experience engaging with clients in Ireland, UK, US, and continental Europe
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including EIOPA, NAIC, Solvency II, IFRS 17, and ESG reporting standards

Job Description

Role Summary

Based in Ireland (NI or ROI), we are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Global Head to lead our Insurance business globally. This senior leadership role will drive the sector vision, shape go-to-market strategy, strengthen domain capability, and scale delivery across core markets including Ireland, the UK, and the US. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong executive presence, and a proven track record of leading global growth in IT and consulting services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sector Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the global strategy for Insurance in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Drive multi-year growth plans across Tier 1 and Tier 2 insurers, brokers, reinsurers, lessors etc. and other such entities.
  • Develop differentiated propositions in areas such as underwriting transformation, claims automation, risk & compliance, policy administration, and aircraft asset lifecycle management.

2. Client Engagement & Business Growth

  • Personally lead strategic relationships with key Insurance clients within Version1, driving account growth, stakeholder mapping, and multi-tower engagement.
  • Leverage existing executive relationships from prior roles with insurance clients to accelerate entry and credibility.
  • Build and nurture executive relationships with CIOs, COOs, Chief Underwriters, Heads of Claims, and other Insurance leaders. This requires regular interaction with key leaders at the client site.
  • Represent the company at global industry forums such as ITIC, IASA, NAIC etc. events in Dublin and New York.

3. Solution & Capability Development

  • Collaborate with practices (Data, Cloud, AI, Digital) and domain teams to develop in-house techno function solutions and packaged business capabilities
  • Own existing Insurtech and related techno-function partnerships to expand Version 1 offerings
  • Explore, qualify and expand creation of packaged business capabilities across other core platforms (For eg: Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, Majesco, ServiceNow FSO or Salesforce FSC) based on alignment with Version1’s GTM strategy.
  • Lead the creation of accelerators and reusable assets for regulatory remediation, intelligent claims, ESG reporting, and aircraft asset optimization.

4. Global Delivery & People Leadership

  • Oversee a globally distributed delivery team and ensure high-quality program execution.
  • Mentor regional domain leaders and support leadership hiring across key markets.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, excellence, and client outcomes.

5. Financial Management

  • Own global P&L for Insurance.
  • Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and account expansion through consultative selling and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience in the insurance market, with proven experience in leadership role(s).
  • Proven experience in growing and leading global teams across consulting, transformation, or managed services.
  • Strong understanding of global insurance markets (Insurance Brokers, Life & Pensions, P&C, Reinsurance).
  • Prior experience engaging with clients in Ireland, UK, US, and continental Europe.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including EIOPA, NAIC, Solvency II, IFRS 17, and ESG reporting standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or Technology.
