Job Summary

Illumination is seeking a Graphic Design Intern for Summer 2025 to work with the Marketing/Special Projects team. This internship offers cross-company learning opportunities and collaboration with innovative teams. Responsibilities include designing layouts for posters, billboards, and in-theater standees; creating graphics for print campaigns and internal/external media; developing Keynote presentations; supporting creative executives; and designing new concepts and layouts. The intern will work closely with the team to create visually engaging materials for upcoming projects, contributing directly to the marketing and promotion of Illumination's films.

Must Have

40 hours/week for 8 weeks
Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
Exceptional typography, color, and layout skills
Graphic design portfolio
US work authorization

Job Description

Join the company behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets, and Sing. As an intern at Illumination, you will take part in cross company learning, partner with innovative leaders and teams, and have a seat at the table in our latest endeavors.

Illumination is seeking a Graphic Design Intern for Summer 2025 to work closely with our Marketing/Special Projects team. If you are someone that is creative and wants to learn the business behind the creativity too then this is the internship for you!

Learning and Responsibilities:

Design layouts for posters, billboards, in-theater standees and more.
Create graphics to support Illumination movie Print Campaigns.
Create internal and external media graphic materials
Create Keynote presentations to communicate innovative business strategies or character themes. This involves graphic and product design.
Support Creative Executive on Business Development and other Projects.
Design new concepts, graphics, and layouts
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

Qualifications:

Availability to work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks
Must be returning to school/university/trade school/etc. the following semester
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a must
Must have extraordinary ability with typography, color and layout.
Preferred majors: Graphic Design
Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback into revised work
Must submit a graphic design portfolio to be considered for this role.
Must be authorized to work int he United States without visa sponsorship by the company.

The salary for this position is $17.28/hour
