Miro is seeking a Head of Sourcing with 8-10 years of experience to build and lead their sourcing team. The role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts. Key responsibilities include cost optimization, market analysis, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration with departments like BizTech, Operations, and Finance. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and contract management skills, proven ability to develop sourcing strategies, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills. This is a full-time, on-site position in New York.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sourcing to build our sourcing team. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing sourcing strategies. This role requires a hands-on leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves and dive into the details while also providing strategic direction to the team.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with Miro's business goals and objectives. 
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure the best value, quality, and reliability. 
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for commercial terms in renewals and new contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable agreements. 
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality. Have a long-term vision for consolidating vendors and measuring savings. 
  • Team Leadership: While the role begins as an independent contributor role, this role will be able to build out a team.  As such, prior experience in leading and managing a team is desired.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, ensuring continuity and reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including BizTech, Operations, and Finance, to ensure alignment and support for sourcing initiatives. 
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sourcing activities and report on performance to senior management.
  • Legal Coordination: Own a first pass at legal redlines to Miro templates using a playbook of standard fallback positions. 

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus
  •  8-10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance to ensure Miro remains competitive and innovative in its sourcing practices
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and tools
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

The reasonably estimated salary range is specific to Los Angeles and may not be applicable to other locations. The range for this role is $154,000 to $193,000. Final compensation and total package components will be based on individual factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
