Job Description

This role involves working on the OPTUM Care project, focusing on creating rack diagrams and conducting site surveys. Key responsibilities include assessing space for new equipment, maintaining a clean environment, and integrating hardware into existing topologies. The specialist will perform audits on space, power, environmental conditions, cabling, and devices, ensuring adherence to processes and policies. Strong communication, problem-solving, and cable management skills are essential, along with knowledge of Data Center best practices.

  • Understand and apply processes and policies.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Recognize problems and recommend remediation actions.
  • Possess strong cable management skills and experience with fiber and copper in data centers.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Center best practices (fault tolerance, cable routing, power usage, cooling).
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years' experience with Data Center/Raised Floor/Critical Facility space and support teams.
  • 3+ years' experience working in a data center environment.
  • 3+ years working experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred qualification).
  • High and Low Voltage basic knowledge and/or practices.

##### Project description

OPTUM Care project, creating rack diagrams and site surveys. Identifying if we have enough space for the new equipment, cleaning up the environment, installing hardware to integrate existing environments into the broader topology, any issues, etc.

##### Responsibilities

  • Space, power, environmental conditions, cabling and device audits.
  • Processes and Policies when working such
  • Understands effective communication across all levels of the organization (both upward and downward) with the appropriate message, the right tone, and the appropriate level of impact.
  • Recognizes problems and can make recommendations/decisions on the best course of action to remediate.
  • Strong cable management skills and experience running fiber and copper in a data center.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Center best practices (i.e. basic fault tolerance, cable routing, calculating power usage and basic cooling)

Must have

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years' experience with Data Center/Raised Floor/Critical Facility space and support teams
  • 3+ years' experience working in a data center environment or equivalent technology background
  • 3+ years working experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Preferred Qualifications:
