Job Description
The HID Firmware Engineer will bring up new sensing chipsets and processors from initial specification to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues. They will debug and resolve system issues related to firmware and implement and maintain complex firmware designs. This role requires writing and testing clean, robust code tailored for embedded systems, specifying and documenting communication protocols, and contributing to system architecture and hardware design reviews. The engineer will also collaborate with Quality Engineering teams for white-box testing.
Must Have:
- Bring up new sensing chipsets and processors to production
- Debug and close out system issues related to firmware
- Write and test clean, robust code for embedded systems
- Specify and document communication protocols
- Contribute to system architecture and hardware design reviews
A successful candidate in this role will: - Bring up new sensing chipsets and processors from initial specification to production, work with cross-functional teams and lead technical opens to closure - Quickly debug and effectively close out system issues related to your firmware and implement and maintain complex firmware designs. - Write and test clean, easy to understand, robust, and sustainable code tailored for embedded systems - Negotiate, specify, and document communication protocols, system states, and FW/SW feature requirements with various teams - Contribute to system architecture, power management, and hardware design reviews and collaborate with Quality Engineering teams to inform and craft their white - box testing.
