Position Overview:
The Inside Solutions Architect (ISA) – Security is a presales technical expert responsible for leading the consultative discovery of the client’s business goals, objectives, and challenges, and translating them into effective technology solutions. This role supports the sales process by designing and recommending advanced security solutions tailored to customer needs. The ISA works closely with sales teams, customers, and vendor partners to ensure technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and increased revenue growth and margin in their solution environment. The ideal candidate brings technical knowledge of security technologies along with strong communication and collaboration skills, acting as a trusted advisor to both clients and Zones' internal teams.
What you’ll do as the Inside Solutions Architect – Security:
Employees employed in the role of Inside Solutions Architect – Security shall be required to apply their independent mind and demonstrate intellectual abilities in their decision-making.

- Assist sales teams in presales activities, including gathering customer requirements and supporting solution design.
- Support the creation of Bill of Materials (BoM), quote generation, and solution validation for security technologies.
- Develop a working knowledge of security platforms such as firewall solutions, endpoint protection, identity and access management (IAM), cloud security, security operations tools (SIEM/SOAR), and vulnerability management solutions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging security technologies, and vendor offerings.
- Participate in discovery calls to understand customer needs and contribute to appropriate security solution designs.
- Assist in reviewing configurations, designs, and quotes before delivery to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer requirements.
- Support the identification of upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the security solution portfolio.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and take initiative to improve internal processes, knowledge sharing, and documentation.
- Work towards achieving relevant certifications to enhance technical expertise and support vendor relationships in the security space.
- Build familiarity with the company's services catalog and security solutions.
What you will bring to the team:
The following are the experience and key skills required for the position:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
Certification Requirements:
- At least one vendor competency certification in cybersecurity solutions such as Cisco Security, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Microsoft Security, or other industry-recognized platforms is preferred.
- CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, Microsoft Security Administrator Associate, or equivalent certification is a plus.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years in a sales and/or IT security implementation/support role.
- Basic understanding of security concepts and solutions, including network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and identity protection.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical and presales expertise in cybersecurity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams, vendor partners, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
