Job Description

Be a key member of a team responsible for the execution, administration, and delivery of CME Group's IT Asset Management standards. This role serves as a subject matter resource to ensure accurate asset data, support audit readiness, and manage IT Asset lifecycle processes. Additionally, the specialist will manage and execute daily IT Asset stock room and inventory operations, demonstrating initiative, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to continuous improvement in ITAM practices.
Must have:
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of IT assets, their lifecycle from requisition to retirement, and existing management procedures, policies, and tools.
  • Plan, monitor, and document IT Assets to ensure compliance with CME Corporate Standards, Policies, and vendor contracts.
  • Analyze and identify areas for process improvements, propose action plans, and implement approved updates.
  • Review inventory (physical and automated) for variances with Asset Database records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Interface with other teams/managers regarding asset data and respond to requests from asset owners, managers, and developers.
  • Ensure asset management standards and procedures are followed across the organization.
  • Track, count, and report on the location, description, ownership, and utilization of end-user equipment.
  • Review and reconcile asset data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in protecting and accounting for physical assets during receiving, deploying, storage, and removal/decommissioning processes through audits and controls.
  • Support audits related to IT assets, including collecting information and leading inventory projects.
  • Work closely with the business to manage equipment requests, including on-boarding, extensions, and off-boarding.
  • Oversee stock room activities, including inventory audits and missing asset reporting.
  • Respond to escalated asset management issues and determine appropriate resolution.
  • Professional experience in Asset Management or inventory and stock control.
  • Ability to work with large data sets and produce analytical reports.
  • Demonstrate analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, and solution orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and flexibility to work on multiple disparate tasks.

Additionally, this role will manage and execute CME Group IT Asset stock rooms and inventory daily operations per CME Group IT Asset Management policies. The Asset Mgmt Specialist II demonstrates initiative, cross-functional collaboration, and contributes to continuous improvement in ITAM practices.

Description:

The IT Asset Management Team (ITAM) at CME Group integrates the physical, technological, contractual, and financial aspects of information technology assets which includes the following:

  • Control inventory that is purchased and used.
  • Select the proper tools for managing assets.
  • Manage the asset life cycle from planning to disposal.
  • Achieve compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Improve IT service to end users.
  • Create standards and processes for managing the life cycle of assets.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of IT assets in place, lifecycle of these assets from requisition through retirement, as well as existing procedures, policies, and tools to manage them.
  • Plan, monitor, and document IT Assets to ensure compliance with CME Corporate Standards, Policies, and vendor contracts.
  • Analyze and identify areas for process improvements. Propose action plans and implement updates approved by management.

Essential Criteria:

  • Professional experience in Asset Management or inventory and stock control
  • Ability to work with large data sets and produce analytical reports from same
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical expertise, close attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, logic, and solution orientation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willing to work in a team environment; flexibility to work on multiple disparate tasks
