Job Description

Wabtec in Nýřany (Plzeň - north), Czech Republic, manufactures air conditioning units for rail vehicles, leading its field with custom orders and stable contracts for years ahead. This IT Specialist role involves managing IT hardware and software, including installation, configuration, updates, and ensuring efficient use of IT resources. Responsibilities also include user account and mobile device management, server backups, network monitoring, and communication with IT teams via ServiceNow. The specialist will support technology integration, prepare tender documents for IT suppliers, and collaborate across departments.
Must Have:
  • Management of computer hardware and software
  • Installation, configuration, and updates of software
  • Ensuring service and efficient use of IT resources
  • Management of user accounts and mobile devices
  • Server backups and supervision of LAN / FTP / FT network
  • Communication with IT teams via ServiceNow and support for technology integration into the Wabtec system
  • Preparation of documents for IT supplier tenders
  • Active collaboration across departments and reporting to management
  • English and Czech language at a good level (spoken and written form)
  • Knowledge of computer technology and networks (LAN, MS Server)
  • Proactive approach and problem-solving ability
  • Customer approach – internal and external
  • Ability to identify risks and propose solutions
  • Adherence to work procedures and Wabtec company values

We fulfill the specific wishes of our customers. Annually, we produce more than 4,500 air conditioning units, which we supply worldwide. Our customers include companies such as Siemens, Hyundai Rotem, Alstom, Škoda, Stadler, and many others. For 20 years, we have been a stable employer with secure orders for several years ahead.
