Job Description

As a Junior Ecommerce Analyst focused on product research and forecasting, you will play a critical role in identifying market trends, evaluating competitive landscapes, and forecasting demand to guide product and inventory strategies. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about ecommerce, consumer behavior, and data-driven decision-making.
Must have:
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify trending products and whitespace opportunities across ecommerce platforms.
  • Analyze sales data, traffic patterns, and customer behavior to support new product selection and lifecycle planning.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Buying teams to validate product ideas with market data and projections.
  • Assist in developing demand forecasts at the SKU level to guide inventory planning and promotional strategies.
  • Monitor and report on product performance post-launch, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain product research databases and tools, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Support the Ecommerce Manager with ad hoc analysis, dashboards, and performance reports.
Good to have:
  • Working knowledge of ecommerce platforms and marketplaces (Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.)
  • Experience with research tools (e.g., Helium 10, Jungle Scout)
  • Experience with forecasting models

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify trending products and whitespace opportunities across ecommerce platforms.
  • Analyze sales data, traffic patterns, and customer behavior to support new product selection and lifecycle planning.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Buying teams to validate product ideas with market data and projections.
  • Assist in developing demand forecasts at the SKU level to guide inventory planning and promotional strategies.
  • Monitor and report on product performance post-launch, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain product research databases and tools, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Support the Ecommerce Manager with ad hoc analysis, dashboards, and performance reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in ecommerce, retail analytics, or a data-driven role (internships included).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a curiosity for trends and consumer insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 30lbs on occasion.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of ecommerce platforms and marketplaces (Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.)
  • Experience with research tools (e.g., Helium 10, Jungle Scout).
  • Experience with forecasting models is a strong advantage.
