About the role

We are seeking a Lab Transformation Project Manager to lead a number of Smart Laboratory projects in Europe as part of a global Laboratory transformation programme; providing project management, business analysis and change management leadership throughout the life of the project.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale transformation programme aimed at delivering Smart Laboratories in Haleon. The programme is dynamic, wide-ranging, and spans multiple time zones globally.

As the Lab Transformation Project Manager, you will lead the project management activities for several Laboratory transformation projects within this broader programme. We are seeking a professional who can guide teams through the project life cycle by planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking against a project plan. You will lead multiple smart lab initiatives, at site, concurrently.

The programme is already established, and we need someone who can lead using tailored hybrid agile methodologies, with strong monitoring and controlling skills, who is prepared to lead both strategic and yet still be hands-on tactical at site. The ideal candidate will possess robust business analyst skills to complement their project management expertise. In this role, you will gather and analyse business requirements, lead and support project planning, and ensure the successful execution of initiatives.

Additionally, you will lead with strong change management skills and foster a culture of change across the network. This role involves close collaboration with senior management, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of change strategies and initiatives. You will work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and optimize project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, budget, monitor, and report on the project using project management skills and tools.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements to support project planning and execution.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans.
  • Lead change initiatives to improve laboratory processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align change initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams during change implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports on change progress and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, change mindset, and innovation, ensuring training is delivered and change is embedded.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience leading large scale projects
  • Proven experience of successful project delivery using project management methodologies and tools.
  • Agile ways of working
  • Prior knowledge and experience with Atlassian Jira.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Information management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Loop).
  • Large scale Data management – Excel
  • Database management
  • Formal email communications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Organizational Development, Science, Project management).
  • Project management qualifications (PMP, APM, PRINCE2).
  • Extensive experience in change management, preferably in a laboratory or scientific environment.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Agile methodology
  • Waterfall methodology
  • Disciplined methodology
  • Certification in change management (e.g.,APMG, Prosci, ACMP).
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
