Lead Content Developer & Instructional Designer – Ultrasound (Bothell, WA or Cambridge, MA)

Design and lead development of engaging, high-impact learning content that elevates clinical, sales, and technical proficiency for Philips Ultrasound worldwide.

Your role:

  • Craft transformative learning experiences that empower clinicians, sales professionals, and field service engineers to unlock the full value of Philips Ultrasound innovations and, ultimately, improve patient care.

  • You’ll partner closely with product management, clinical marketing, service, and regional education leaders while steering a small team of content developers and external vendors.

  • Blend instructional design best practices with cutting‑edge media to deliver ILT, VILT, eLearning, simulations, and performance‑support assets that accelerate competence.

  • Partner with SMEs and product teams to transform complex ultrasound concepts into engaging, learner‑centered content aligned to business goals.

  • Lead content development projects, managing scope, timelines, and quality while coaching junior designers to elevate team capability.

  • Publish and maintain global training assets through Philips LMS/CMS, ensuring brand consistency, regulatory compliance, and localization readiness.

  • Analyze learner analytics and feedback to continuously optimize content effectiveness and demonstrate impact on customer satisfaction, sales, and service efficiency.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 8+ years of experience designing and developing multi‑modal learning content in a corporate or healthcare technology setting; you have led small project teams and vendors without direct authority.

  • Your skills include advanced proficiency with Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, and LMS/CMS administration; experience with video production or interactive simulations is a bonus skill.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field; ATD or similar professional certification is a plus.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. Travel up to 10% may be required for filming or training events.

  • You’re an effective communicator and collaborator who can influence cross‑functionally, juggle multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office-based role and will sit in either Bothell, WA or Cambridge, MA.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position in WA or MA is $95,000 to $155,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.   

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. 

Additional Information:

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.

  • Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Bothell, WA or Cambridge, MA.
