The Lead Oracle Applications E-Business Database Administrator will provide day-to-day DBA support for multiple customers, focusing on Oracle EBS versions 11i, 12.1.3, and 12.2.x. Responsibilities include handling issues, cloning, patching, RMAN backups, performance fixes, and implementing security measures. The role involves configuring external access, supporting OCI PaaS applications, managing service requests, collaborating with consultants, liaising with clients, identifying and resolving persistent problems, maintaining disaster recovery sites, and conducting health checks. The candidate should be ITIL Foundation certified and possess excellent communication skills, assisting with client transitions and upgrades. The role is hybrid and requires occasional travel to a hub office.
Must have:
  • Day-to-day DBA support for multiple customers.
  • Support Oracle EBS Versions 11i, 12.1.3 and 12.2.x.
  • RMAN backups and performance issue fixes.
  • Supporting OCI PaaS applications and databases.
  • Create, update, and resolve Oracle service requests.
  • Liaising with clients to manage change requests.
  • Identifying and addressing persistent problems.
  • ITIL Process Knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience with OCI PaaS applications and databases.
  • RAC and ASM experience.
  • Single Sign On knowledge.
  • Linux Administration skills.
  • Migrations: on-premises to OCI.
  • EBS version upgrades (R12.1 to R12.2)
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications.

Lead Oracle Applications E-Business Database Administrator

YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR BPSS CLEARANCE.

THERE WILL BE AN ON-CALL ROTA (1 IN EVERY 4 WEEKS)

Here at Version 1, we are currently in the market for an experienced Lead Oracle Applications E-Business Database Administrator to join our growing Managed Services Practice.

Qualifications

You will have experience in the following areas:

Required Skills:

  • Providing day to day DBA support for multiple customers
  • Leading and overseeing standard DBA support tasks for Oracle EBS Versions 11i, 12.1.3 and 12.2.x - Issues, Cloning, Patching etc
  • RMAN backups, performance issue fixes, Shell Scripting, TLS and jar signing certificate implementations
  • External access configuration, load balancing and shared filesystems
  • Supporting OCI PaaS applications and databases
  • Creation, update, and resolution of Oracle service requests (SRs)
  • Working with technical and functional consultants to deliver client requirements.
  • Liaising directly with customers to ensure all requests for change are properly designed, assessed, prioritized, and managed through to completion.
  • Identifying persistent problems and work with key stakeholders to address the root causes.
  • Disaster Recovery site maintenance and participation in regular DR tests
  • Conduct DB /OS health check ups
  • ITIL Process Knowledge, you will be preferably ITIL Foundation certified
  • Ability to research, learn, troubleshoot, and support complex systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Assisting with transitioning clients into managed service following projects and from other suppliers.
  • Projects - Upgrades, Migrations, Lift and Shift On-premises to OCI/Cloud
  • Experience in database upgrades and EBS point release upgrades

Desirable Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and supporting OCI PaaS applications and databases
  • RAC and ASM
  • Single Sign On
  • Linux Administration
  • Migrations: on-premises to OCI, Legacy Migration and Hardware Migration
  • EBS version upgrades (R12.1 to R12.2)
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications
