This Legal Analyst position within Merkle's Promotions and Loyalty Solutions team involves legal compliance oversight for promotions, including drafting Official Rules/Terms, reviewing advertising content, consulting with the sales team, acting as a client liaison, managing client satisfaction, and ensuring legal compliance. Responsibilities include managing problems during the lifecycle of a Promotion, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring internal system documentation accurately reflects each internal team’s duties. The role offers opportunities to develop professional and personal skills in the marketing, data and technology industry. The role requires excellent grammatical and proofreading skills, and the ability to clearly communicate to internal and external clients.

This team advises on, develops and implements promotion solutions such as sweepstakes, instant win games, contests, offers and loyalty programs for a variety of high-profile clients.  See https://promotions.com/ for more about our services.  We are looking for a legal analyst to join our legal team (including 2 attorneys and 4 legal analysts). We are looking for an individual who is passionate about marketing, data, technology and their intersection, and will bring enthusiasm to the role. There is plenty of opportunity to develop professional and personal skills, playing an important role in the within the Promotion and Loyalty Solutions team. While a background in media or technology is not necessary for the role, a keen interest in learning about new technologies, social media platforms and data practices is important. Responsibilities of the role include the following: Provide legal compliance oversight for sweepstakes, contests, instant win games, offers and loyalty programs (herein “Promotions”).  Specifically, this includes: Drafting program Official Rules/Terms; Reviewing advertising and promotional site content for legal compliance with federal and state promotion laws; Consulting with Merkle’s sales team to help scope Promotions before sale; Acting as day-to-day client liaison and advisor throughout Promotion lifecycle. Manage assigned clients to ensure high client satisfaction Manage resolution of problems that may occur during the lifecycle of a Promotion to ensure legal compliance. Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure promised deliverables for each Promotion are met; this includes ensuring internal system documentation accurately reflects each internal team’s duties Qualifications: Candidate should be someone who: Has a client-service mentality, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across teams within Promotions and Loyalty Solutions and across Merkle/dentsu, as well as with clients who place their trust in Merkle Promotions, Loyalty Solutions team; Has a passion for the work they do and the general marketing and data industry, with a demonstrated ability to show leadership; Possesses well-developed prioritization skills given the likelihood of dealing with multiple projects and clients at any one time and can do so accurately and gracefully; Can work autonomously, take initiative and be pro-active in addressing new matters or challenges; Shows extreme attention to detail, is a logical thinker and has excellent grammatical/proofreading skills; Is confident and able to clearly communicate to internal and external clients; Has a desire to learn more about the wider media, advertising, data and technology industries; and 1-4 years of relevant experience Proficient with use of Microsoft Office communication tools and Word Bachelor's Degree The anticipated salary range for this position is ($59,000-$96,025).
