Job Description

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Liquibase SME with extensive experience in SQL Server projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Liquibase for automated database deployments, preferably with experience in large-scale projects and conversions. This role requires a technical expert who can drive best practices, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and provide end-to-end support for database version control and deployment automation. Responsibilities include serving as the go-to expert on Liquibase, designing and maintaining changelogs for SQL Server, leading automated database deployment pipelines, collaborating with development and operations teams, and providing technical guidance on Liquibase best practices.
Must have:
  • Expertise in Liquibase for automated SQL Server deployments
  • Deep understanding of Liquibase architecture and features
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Proficiency in Git version control
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
Good to have:
  • Experience in large-scale projects and conversions
  • Database conversion and migration project experience
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Knowledge of other database technologies
  • Liquibase or DevOps certification

Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Liquibase SME with extensive experience in SQL Server projects to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Liquibase for automated database deployments, preferably with experience in large-scale projects and conversions. This role requires a technical expert candidate can drive best practices, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and provide end-to-end support for database version control and deployment automation. 

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $125k - $145k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the go-to expert on Liquibase for all database deployment activities. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain Liquibase changelogs for SQL Server environments. 
  • Lead and implement automated database deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools. 
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless database versioning and releases. 
  • Participate in the conversion projects involving database migrations or upgrades. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on Liquibase best practices. 
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Liquibase deployment processes. 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of deployment procedures, configurations, and best practices. 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working on large SQL Server projects utilizing Liquibase for automated deployments. 
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of Liquibase, with a thorough understanding of its architecture, features, and best practices. 
  • Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically integrating Liquibase with tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar. 
  • Proficiency in version control systems, especially Git. 
  • Experience in database conversion and migration projects is a strong plus. 
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) are desirable. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team. 
  • Prior experience working on large enterprise-scale SQL Server implementations. 
  • Knowledge of other database technologies is a plus. 
  • Certification or formal training in Liquibase or DevOps practices.
