Job Summary
Scout Motors is seeking a Manager, Powertrain Engineering to lead and grow a team responsible for engine hardware assembly and component design. This role involves championing innovation, driving engineering excellence, and communicating cross-functionally. The manager will support DVP&R execution, lead DFMEA activities, oversee program engineering milestones, and provide technical feedback to various teams. The position is full-time and based in Novi, Michigan, requiring significant on-site presence.

- Lead DFMEA (Design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) activities.
- Oversee the on-time delivery of program engineering milestones, including sourcing packages, build plans and HW deliverables.
- Provide technical feedback to concept architects, designers, test engineers and calibration teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in engine and engine hardware (fuel systems, air intake, exhaust systems, etc.) engineering.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to meet the travel requirements outlined in the job description.
- Ability to meet the on-site requirements for this role (minimum 4 days attendance in office in Novi, Michigan).
- Acknowledge and agree to the compensation terms (initial base salary range $140,000.00 - $170,000.00).
- Live within 60 miles of Novi, Michigan, or relocate within 3 months of start date (relocation assistance not available).

What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Lead, manage and grow a team of engineers responsible for engine hardware assembly and component design

Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- The responsibilities of this role require a minimum of 4 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in engine and engine hardware (fuel systems, air intake, exhaust systems, etc.) engineering
- Experience recruiting and developing technical talent
- A proven ability to inspire and motivate team members
- Project management and multi-system coordination through all phases of development and production
- Experience leading projects and people (directly or indirectly) with strong interpersonal skills, accountability, problem solving and analytical thinking
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment
- Experience with powertrain components including part design, system integration, manufacturing processes and assembly operations
- Knowledge of engineering processes and tools
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
