Job Description

This Operations Manager role with Rackspace Private Cloud involves leading the Migration team and collaborating with other departments for smooth operations. The role requires leading a team of network engineers to support 24x7 Migration efforts and estate devices, creating and executing an end-to-end pipeline for device migration within timelines, managing work assignments, and onboarding new engineers.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations and project management.
  • 6+ years of experience in an operations management role.
  • Experience in technical leadership and management role.
  • Strong command of people management, performance management, Project Management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong documentation abilities.
  • Flexible, proactive, and self-driven.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment to influence roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
  • Cisco Certifications.
  • Palo Alto Certifications: PCNSA/PCNSE.
  • Project Management Certification – ITSM , ITIL Knowledge, certifications.
  • Hands-on experience in Incident management.

Role Overview:

Operations Manager role with Rackspace Private Cloud, we are looking for an operations Manager to lead our Migration team and collaborate with other departments for smooth operations. The role will lead a team of network engineers to support 24x7 Migration efforts and support estate devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team that works on migration of cisco/Palo Alto/F5 estate devices and troubleshoots etc.
  • Create and execute an end-to-end pipeline of work that is required to complete the migration of devices within timelines.
  • Manage the queue and assignment of the work to required resources to drive completion.
  • Create and work on onboarding plans for new engineers in the team to start productivity.
  • Collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure – hardware inventory, team readiness, trainings, customer communication etc.

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
  • 10+ years of experience operations and project management, 6+ years of experience in operations management role.
  • Experience in technical leadership and management role. Strong command of people management, performance management, Project Management.

Soft Skills & Professional Attributes:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to clearly articulate ideas, processes, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation abilities – capable of creating and maintaining clear, concise technical documentation and procedures.
  • Flexible, proactive, and self-driven – demonstrates initiative, reliability, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills·
  • Excellent judgment to influence roadmap direction, features, and priorities·

Preferred Qualification / Certs:

  • Cisco Certifications, Palo Alto Certifications: PCNSA/PCNSE
  • Project Management Certification – ITSM , ITIL Knowledge, certifications. Hands on experience in Incident management.
