An exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Manufacturing Engineer in Civil Aerospace at Washington, North East England. You will support the facility in creating, developing, and maintaining the Method of Manufacture for critical rotating parts. This role involves providing technical support to operations, executing Manufacturing Engineering activities to improve processes, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements. You will also manage technical packages, champion zero defects, collaborate on process optimization, drive improvements, and maintain compliance with technical policies.

  • Experience with quality tools including solve-It sheets and root cause analysis
  • Experience with Teamcenter and Siemens NX packages

Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Washington, North East England

Working Pattern: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Flexible start and end time. Training 5 days onsite, thereafter flexibility – minimum 3 days on-site required.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Manufacturing Engineering business in Civil Aerospace. You will be based at our Washington, North East offices, supporting the facility in creating, developing and maintaining the Method of Manufacture for our critical rotating parts.

In this role, you will provide technical support to operations team and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve the manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Manage and maintain the methods of manufacture technical package & ensure manufacturing processes comply with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Champion a culture of zero defects and deploy digital systems that support Right First-Time manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with teams to optimise manufacturing and digital processes, capturing lessons learnt and sharing best practices across Communities of Practice.
  • Drive process improvements and introduce enhanced manufacturing methods and technologies
  • Maintain full compliance with technical policies including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to operations and ensure process sustainability

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who lives our core behaviours—putting safety first, doing the right thing, keeping it simple and making a difference. You should also have:

  • A degree, HNC or HND in Engineering (desirable).
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering, especially in continuous improvement
  • Good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their role.
