We are seeking a creative and passionate Mid-Level Marketing Copywriter with a strong knowledge of video games, pop culture, niche fandoms, and licensing to join our growing team. In this role, you will craft compelling content that resonates with fans of popular franchises, brands, and characters. Your work will help drive brand engagement, enhance marketing campaigns, and support the licensing strategy through persuasive, on-brand messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation:
    • Write engaging, persuasive, and brand-aligned copy for various marketing channels, including .com use, email campaigns, packaging, product descriptions, and promotional materials.
    • Develop creative concepts and storylines that connect to our history, align with popular culture trends, and resonate with target audiences.
    • Alongside creative team, develop licensing background and content for style guides
    • Drive IP and brand naming processes with Creative, Legal, and LOBs for new products
  2. Brand Voice & Tone:
    • Help define, maintain, and refine the Atari brand voice across all communication platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with the company’s brand goals
    • Tailor messaging to suit different franchises and characters while adhering to brand guidelines.
  3. Campaign Development:
    • Collaborate with the Design team to conceptualize and execute integrated marketing campaigns (email, social, etc.) that leverage our products and IP in Games, Licensing, Hardware, and Atari Club initiatives
    • Assist in the creation of taglines, slogans, and other marketing copy that captures the essence of the brands within the Atari family while also appealing to our fans.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Design Team and other LOBs inside the company to develop content that aligns with visual assets and overall product and campaign goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
  5. Content Management:
    • Edit and proofread copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.
    • Ability to edit the work of others and themselves at editor-level quality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably within the entertainment, licensing, creative agency, or pop culture industry.
  • Strong understanding of pop culture trends, fandoms, and the licensing landscape.
  • Experience creating ecommerce and conversion-focused content for DTC websites and Amazon is a plus
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a portfolio demonstrating creative and impactful work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience
