Key Responsibilities:
Ready for a new challenge? As a Maya Rigger at CI Games, you will work on the epic RPG Lords of the Fallen franchise and other exciting future projects.
Core Rigging & Implementation
- Set up and skin high-quality character rigs in Maya, from initial skeleton layout to final deformation, learning and utilising our procedural tools.
- Use tools like FaceFx to generate compelling facial animation directly from audio tracks.
- Work within a pipeline that uses Maya and Unreal Engine 5 to bring our characters to life.
Pipeline & Process Improvement
- Act as a guardian for quality, ensuring that artistic and animation goals are never compromised by technical limitations.
- Help refine and improve our workflows and pipelines by collaborating closely with the Animation, Art, and Technical leadership teams.
- Support documentation efforts for our rigging pipeline, ensuring clarity for both internal and outsourcing teams.
Ownership & Collaboration
- Take full ownership of your assigned tasks, creating a plan for approval and delivering results to the highest possible quality.
- Stay on the lookout for new techniques, processes, or tools in rigging and animation that could enhance our work.
- Collaborate closely with your team, ensuring that all your work is handed over cleanly and with all necessary information to the next person in the pipeline.

- The gaming industry is extremely fast-paced – project priorities can change quickly and deadlines can be tight.
- You’ll need to be aware of the schedule and respect delivery time.
- Your role will be fully remote which may be sometimes challenging.
Key Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience within the games industry in a Rigger or Technical Animation role
- Strong knowledge of Maya character rigging, including IK solvers, deformer setups (like blendshapes), and procedural rig-building techniques.
- Proven experience in Maya character skinning, comfortable using both 3rd-party tools (like ngSkinTools) and Maya’s native functionalities.
- Experience with Unreal Engine (preferably UE5) and a good understanding of its animation workflow for importing and integrating assets.
- Python coding experience, or a strong and demonstrable desire to learn.
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- A genuine passion for the gaming industry and the craft of technical animation.

Recruitment Process:
- Once our Talent Acquisition team receives your application, together with the hiring team, we will review your CV, portfolio and the answers you provided in the application form and if all the boxes are ticked, we're moving to the next stage.
- Initial call with Talent Acquisition Specialist - During this call you'll learn about the company and we learn about you. We'll talk about your experience & expectations with working in a fully remote environment and we'll talk about your expertise. We'll finish this call with some admin questions. There will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions as well.
- After the initial call, usually 1 or 2 interviews with the hiring team follows. These interviews will be a bit more technical and will go deeper into your experience, skills & knowledge. As you would have signed an NDA by now, you'll also learn a bit more about the project you would work on. During these interviews we'll also focus on finding out whether you're a good fit for our company culture and that we share the same values.
- We may or may not ask you to do the test - this is decided on an individual basis and you will receive instructions with the test.
- If everything goes well, the last step in the recruitment process is the offer presentation call with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and your future line manager to discuss the offer and next steps to get you successfully on board.
