Position Summary
This engineer works within a project team – generally under the leadership of a principal engineer, systems
engineer, engineering manager, and/or project manager. This engineer uses experience and education to
perform the types of engineering activities which are generally considered within the realm of mechanical
engineering and any other expertise that might be held by this particular individual. This engineer is expected
to work and communicate well with other team members and leadership as assigned in order to meet the goals
of the project, the department, and the company.

1. Solidworks
2. Plastics design
3. Optics design
4. Sheet metal design
5. Heat Transfer
6. Molding Processes
7. Materials (e.g. plastics, aluminum, copper, steel, etc.)
8. Pneumatics
9. Machining (esp. CNC)
10. GD&T
11. Six Sigma/Lean/SPC
12. Manufacturing processes
13. Statistical analysis
