Job Description

As a Merchant at Walmart, you will serve as an advocate for customers, bringing products to life in stores and online. This role requires a visionary strategist who is an expert in their category, leveraging Walmart's scale to impact the business and millions of customers globally. You will manage a multimillion-dollar business with P&L responsibility, analyze data to inform strategies, and build relationships with suppliers and partners. Key responsibilities include setting category strategy, making decisions on product aspects like pricing and assortment, and developing new private brand products.

  • Build relationships with suppliers, vendors, business partners and other Merchants
  • Make decisions about nearly every aspect of your products including replenishment, supply chain, manufacturers, store operations, planning, assortment, layouts, budgets, modular, and pricing
  • Work with Product Development and Sourcing team to create new products for Private Brands
  • Know your customers and supplier better than anyone and always think about what is next for your business

Merchant - Home Storage

This role is onsite in our Bentonville, Arkansas location.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Setting the category strategy: you’ll establish strategy, manage budgets to drive profitable growth, and use vision and creativity to impact the customer experience
  • Building relationships: you’ll use your influencing and leadership skills to build partnerships with suppliers, vendors, business partners and other Merchants
  • Making decisions: you’ll make decisions about nearly every aspect of your products including replenishment, supply chain, manufacturers, store operations, planning, assortment, layouts, budgets, modular, and pricing
  • Designing, developing, and launching products: you’ll work with our Product Development and Sourcing team to create new products for Private Brands
  • Knowing your category: You’ll know your customers and supplier better than anyone and are always thinking about what is next for your business

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising , or related field and 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
