Job Summary
Cirrus Logic is seeking a Layout Design Engineer to join their UK layout team. The role involves layout implementation and development of tools and methodologies for mixed-signal processing. You will work closely with design engineers to achieve optimal circuit performance and produce high-quality layout designs. Responsibilities include completing layout and verification of analog and mixed-signal designs, creating floorplans, providing estimates, collaborating with engineers on efficient floorplans and layout designs, and preparing documents for knowledge sharing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering, knowledge of semiconductor physics and manufacturing processes, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

- Understanding of layout matching, isolation, shielding

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Complete layout and verification of analog and mixed-signal designs using industry standard CAD tools
- Work closely with design engineers to achieve optimal circuit performance and produce high-quality layout designs
- Create layout floorplans and provide area estimates with accuracy
- Provide schedule estimates and updates to senior staff and management with clarity
- Collaborate with engineers and leads, to deliver efficient floorplans and layout designs
- Contribute to complex IC development projects and prepare documents for knowledge sharing
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or related program
- Knowledge of semiconductor physics
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Ability to solve layout design problems and provide innovative solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team environment set-up
- Proven record of completing tasks on time or ahead of schedule while maintaining quality
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to layout simple to complex analog circuitry in a size/time constrained environment
- Comfortable with various IC design CAD tools and foundry PDKs
- Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamental layout techniques
- Understanding of ESD, Latch-up, Layout parasitics, EMIR, LDE, DFM and Antenna effect
- Proficiency in floor planning activities with block assembly, and block-level routing
- Understand layout matching, isolation, shielding, and the use of dummy devices
- Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas for improved efficiency and automation of layout tasks
