About the role

The device you are using right now may have travelled in a Maersk container – and thereby in the most reliable and energy efficient form of transportation this planet has to offer. We aim to reinvent ocean transportation and with 90% of global trade carried by sea and contributing to 3% of the world’s CO2 emissions that is an exciting mission.

In Ocean Network Product, a part of our Ocean Product organization, we constantly question the way we plan our container flows, design our networks, and deploy our vessels. As Ocean Network Product owner in Latin America, you will get to understand regional and global trade and influence strategic decisions that make a real difference to our business and to our customers.

What you’ll be doing

• You are accountable for our Network Design incl. its Customer Value Proposition and Profit and Loss in the Asia to West Coast South America market (C1), the largest fully Maersk operated network in the world.
• You analyse market trends, competition products and customer needs to ensure we always stay ahead.
• You develop the network strategy and build designs that offer the most competitive performance and customer experience. Sometimes this will require that you negotiate with partners.
• You work in close partnership with our colleagues around the globe to actively manage performance, define network requirements and make important trade-off decisions.
• You ensure our volume and market share ambitions match our capacity and are reflected in the budget and freight list for the rest of our organisation to deliver on.
• You drive project work where your skills are needed or where your interests lie. We encourage people to pursue diverse and inspiring work.
• You drive positive change in how we work – continuously improving how we work across teams, adopt new systems or processes and make decisions to improve the customer experience.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you can offer

• You have +5 years’ experience from a similar role formulating strategies, designing solutions and creating results with others through effective engagement and excellent decision making.
• You have great analytical skills and structure, able to solve complicated problems, sometimes under pressure.
• You are a positive and self-motivated person who can drive alignment, engagement, and results through others.
• You are a true collaborator and able to engage with diverse stakeholders across geographies and functions to achieve the best overall result.
• You have great communication skills and are able to convey complicated issues in both written and oral English.
